1. Does HPO support ADSL Flets?

Yes, HPO began offering ADSL Flets on June 01, 2001. Please check our ADSL FAQ page for more details

2. Where are HPO's access points?

HPO has national wide access through our 0570-037037 access number. This number can be used anywhere in Japan and it will automatically connect you to the nearest access point. This service is available to all members with the exception of those holding Email Only accounts.

3. What is HPO doing about viruses and Spam?

HPO scans all email that passes through our mail server and removes any viruses it detects. Of course nothing is perfect so we strongly recommend that you always run virus scanning software on your own computer. After our mail server finishes the virus test it checks the content for Spam and marks them as *****Spam***** in the subject of the mail. Members can set up mail filters in their email programs to send the E-mail in question to a separate folder which could be checked for true/false assessment at a later time before deleting them. Follow these links fro examples of the filter set up for Outlook Express and Netscape Messenger.   

4. I just tried to send email and got some message about being blacklisted?

HPO subscribes to a number of organizations in the U.S. to help cut down on the amount of Spam our users receive. When these organizations detect Spam being sent out they block the IP Address. Unfortunately when you logged on you were assigned an IP Address that someone else has used to send Spam.

What do I have to do to resolve this problem?

You can usually go to the origination's home page and remove the IP Address from their data-base. However, it is usually simpler to disconnect from the Internet, turn the power off on your modem then wait about fifteen minutes. Turn the power back on your modem and reconnect to the Internet, you should now be assigned a new IP Address, if you don't wait long enough you will get the same IP Address and will have the same problem.

5. I'm still getting too much Spam! Can I change my Email address?

6. How can I pick-up my email while I am traveling or even from my office?
